From the northern coast to the south, its beaches are an open-air spectacle. Perfect destination for those who decide to rent a boat, better if a yacht or catamaran, and enjoy every moment of their holiday.
Sardinia Boat Rentals presents the different itineraries to explore Sardinia from an alternative and exclusive point of view: the sea. Endless travel combinations to board of the most beautiful boats moored in different ports of the island.
An aspect increasingly appreciated by tourists is the port system of Sardinia, wide and articulated, in fact there are about 80 landings throughout the island as well as about fifty equipped ports and numerous services to make your boat holiday pleasant and comfortable.
In this mini guide we want to summarize the main aspects of Sardinia, ideally dividing it into 5 zones.
Northern Sardinia is certainly the favorite of those who love a boat holiday and is also the most famous and glamorous. The North Coast of Sardinia includes the part that goes from Olbia to Capo Testa, including the Maddalena Archipelago and the South of Corsica. Here you can see and admire many yachts and superyachts that dot the Sardinian coast every summer.
The North West Coast, which starts from Capo Testa and reaches Alghero, also including the Island of Asinara. This stretch of coast is very varied, Well appreciated for the enchanting scenery is the Asinara which offers beautiful white sandy beaches, turquoise sea and a rocky coast. Favorite destination for those who practice snorkeling and diving.
The West Coast, or from Alghero to Carloforte, is an area not very famous, frequented but full of suggestive bays and beaches. This trait, strongly beaten by the mistral.
You sail between coves, beaches and extremely fascinating coves, such as the small coves of Bosa and the Island of Mal di Ventre. The dunes of Is Piscinas and Cala Domestica are so beautiful that they take your breath away.
The South West Coast, which goes from Carloforte to Cagliari, an area recommended for those who want to spend a week in wild and unknown places. Definitely the wildest part of the island. Here the Mistral dictates the rules of navigation.
Not to be missed during a boat holiday, on the southern coast of Sardinia is the island of San Pietro and Sant’Antioco and the incredible white sand dunes of Portopino. For those who have more days available we also recommend Capo Zafferano to see the beautiful coast with cows walking on the beach. Cagliari is a beautiful city with a lively and picturesque old town.
The east coast from Cagliari to Olbia, dotted with fantastic beaches and cliffs overlooking the sea is sheltered from the Mistral but not from the other winds, in particular from the wave of Scirocco. Villasimius is a real gem of Sardinia, its long white beach offers magnificent coves such as: Cala Goritze, Mariolu’, Cala Luna, real masterpieces of nature.
Continuing the navigation to the north, you arrive at the large beach of Budoni in San Teodoro among the most popular tourist destinations. Here, too, the winds impose the rhythms of navigation.
